In the fragmentary era in which we live, there is something putting us together that we cannot escape: NOISE. Not only on streets or crowded places, the daily soundtrack of our lives, but also that constant buzz on the background that conveys news and ideas making us all conformed to the other, all facing the same direction. It is the least recognizable sound of all the bombings we are subjected to. To try to pick up the signs of a frenetic society with no way out, submeet have entered one of the noisiest places in the world: an airport terminal, where voices and screams of passengers overlap the racket of the planes that land or take off. It is in there, a place of constant passage and exchange, right on the frontier that Terminal was born.

Debut album first released digitally on January 24, 2020, then on vinyl on February 14 via Lady Sometimes Records by the Mantuan trio involving visual artist Zannunzio (Andrea Zanini), Andrea Guardabascio and Jacopo Rossi.

Shoegaze, noise, post-punk: lately the band has toured Italy, Switzerland and France, sharing stages with many great bands such as Havah, Be Forest, Soviet Soviet, until the famous Canadian act 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 discovered their music and asked them to open their gig in Bologna.
Actually, through the merciless sound rage of Terminal there are at least two references we may bring: Preoccupations, in fact, for the purely post-punk side and the sonic noise of 𝗔 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Nonetheless the general attitude of 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 goes further: from hieratic clangs exploding into outraged outbursts - as it happens in the title track 𝑇𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙, chosen as main single out on November 29, 2019 along with the experimental video made by Zannunzio - to the less harsh landings of 𝑁𝑖𝑚𝑏𝑦, up to the frenetic 𝐵𝐺𝑌, one of their forte. Without completely renouncing to the song form, the band assembles pieces often marked by sudden changes in tempo (𝑀𝑎𝑘𝑘𝑎ℎ𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑐 and 𝑅𝐴815 𝑅𝐸𝑉. 0 are great examples), crazy splinters of noise-punk (𝐵𝑜𝑒𝑙𝑐𝑘𝑒), hidden shoegaze legacies (𝑊ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝐴𝑟𝑚𝑠), night rides in abandoned urban spaces (𝐶𝑎𝑝𝑠𝑢𝑙𝑒 𝐻𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑙), Cronenberg-style nightmares of meat and metal (the dilated 𝐴𝑢𝑑𝑖𝑜𝑑𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑒).

Although not a real concept LP, Terminal is an album with clear coordinates also lirically:
«The songs tell about the rejection of the alienating condition submitted by a post-industrial society in which we do not recognize ourselves anymore, but of which we speak the same language made of metallic, distorted and deafening noises. Terminal means death in general. Death of the man as death of conscience, intellect, authenticity and freedom of thought. Terminal also as a 'terminal', or screen / monitor in which the modern society where we live today gets reflected. The airport related meaning of the term, however, lights up a glimmer of hope; it is an end, yes, but also a point from which you can fly again and re-start again»
